Pinewood Derby

California sessions:

                Day 1: May 17^th, 2022: LA/Orange region (exact location TBD) – Lunch will be provided

                Day 2: May 19^th, 2022: Wattco’s office; 2230 Cordelia Road, Fairfield, CA – Lunch will be provided

Agenda and Activities:

1. 9:30am to 10:00am: Meet & Greet session & introductions of the host agency personnel
   1. Pinewood Derby car check-in, attendance at the event will be required to race.
2. 10:00am to 11:00am: Whelen Engineering Company Technology Training Session 1; Whelen’s CORE family of siren control systems, California compliance of DVI (Dynamic Variable Intensity) flash pattern to enhance Officer & public safety, Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V), and Vehicle Safety Gateway (VSG) and Whelen Cloud Platform suite of services.
   1. Demo vehicles include: (2) Ford Explorers, (2) Chevy Tahoe’s, (2) Ford PIU Hybrids, Ford F150, Dodge Durango PPV
3. 11:15am – 12:00noon: Whelen Regional Manager & Field Solutions Engineer Training Session 2; The path forward partnering with Whelen Engineering.
   1. Topics include: Whelen’s WeCAN-X communications network, CORE family of siren control systems (C399, C399R, C399C), WeCAN-X Tracer series, ARGES integration, and Whelen Cloud Platform; Next level features being released in the third quarter of 2022
4. 12:00noon to 2:00pm: Whelen hosted lunch
   1. Wattco’s first annual Municipal Pinewood Derby contest; Rules & Regulations and Derby car check in
      1. Presentation of Pinewood Derby Agency vehicles
      2. Running of Pinewood Derby contest
   2. Raffle prizes, T-shirt give-away, and Grand Prize winner gets (1) Full vehicle lighting & siren package from Whelen Engineering Company!

Agency Pine Wood Derby:

Wattco brings track & provides (1) Pine Wood Derby kit to each agency that signs up. Rules/regulations, Prizes, etc. The winner receives a $400.00 donation to the agency’s charity of choice from Wattco.

‘Best in Show’ Pinewood Derby car will be presented!
